Trending Tvshows

Now that we have cried over Nairobi’s death and fallen in love with Alvaro Morte’s irresistible Professor character while waiting for next season of Spanish thriller, Money Heist, let us pay some attention to our desi web series too. No, Gaitonde and Kaleen Bhaiyya aren’t just back yet but we have some more homegrown shows to keep you entertained in this lockdown!!!

1.Panchayat

Jitu bhayya is back and he hits it out of the park. Jitendra Kumar is back to web platform after making his impressive debut in Shubh Mangal Zydada Savdhaan opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. Now add Raghubir Yadav and Neena Gupta into the mix and you have a sure shot winner here. Panchayat, as the name suggests, is based on the villages of India but it doesn’t glorify the villages neither it takes away the dignity of villagers while talking about their problems. It treads on a fine line backed by the fine performances of the actors. You can catch up Panchayat on Amazon Prime.

2.Four More Shots Please

Another Prime show which premiered its season 2 recently. Four More Shots can be called as India’s effort to take on Sex and the City backed by the powerful star cast of Kirit Kulhari, Sayani Gupta, Manavi Gagroo, and Bani J. However, all that the show could manage was make audience reach out for a vodka bottle or a zandu balm. It was cliched and poorly made with some out of the south Mumbai problems.

3. Mentalhood

It is not unknown that Ekta Kapoor churns out content at a fast pace but how much quality she maintains is really questionable. Fortunately, Mentalhood is bearable and I guess most of the young moms will identify with this fact. Gen Z kids with gen Z problems are very relatable. What makes Mentalhood a must watch is because of Karishma Kapoor’s presence. She is making her digital debut and watching her on-screen we can say how much we miss her! Watch Mentalhood on Alt Balaji and Zee5.

4. She

Netflix’s latest offering has some heavyweights backing up this one beyond the camera. She is written by Imtiaz Ali and directed by Arif Ali and Avinash dash. She is a crime drama series on how an undercover Mumbai cop finds her road to empowerment through her covert mission. She stars Vijay Verma, Vishwas Kini, and Aditi Pohankar.

5. Code M

Anything that is touched by TV diva Jennifer Winget these days turns out to be gold. In this web series produced by Juggernaut Films and aired on Alt Balaji and Zee5, Winget plays the role of an army lawyer in this mystery drama. Backed by the strong performances of Jennifer Winget, Rajat Kapoor, Seema Biswas, and Tanuj Virwani, Code M keeps you at the edge of your seats.
