Manoj Bajpayee-Priyamani-starrer Family Man’s trailer will give you a roller-coaster ride

Manoj Bajpayee and Priyamani-starrer upcoming web series, Family Man is going to take the viewers on a breathless roller coaster ride. Family Man’s recently released trailer is the shining proof of this statement. The trailer opens with Srikant Tiwari (Manoj Bajpayee) driving off his son to school when a biker almost breaks his car mirror. Srikant is on the verge of shouting but goes soft when the biker turns back. When his son questions him why is he always so scared he ends up calling the biker, ‘abey oo makhanchor.” You cannot help but split into laughter when you realize that’s not what he was about to say to the biker.

For his family, Srikant is a timid government employee who always manages to mess a perfectly good situation. He got his daughter suspended from school because he was busy on his mobile, attending some work. His kids think he is a government employee because they don’t see him doing any work. But his wife (Priyamani) thinks he is irresponsible and too devoted to his low paying job.

However, what they don’t know is that Srikant is one of the best spies working for the special cell in the National Investigation Agency. He is a mediocre government employee when he is around family, but away from them, he has the responsibility to save the country from numerous threats. His job is stressful as he says to his colleague Gul Panag “inhe ek baar jeetna hota hai aur hamein baar baar.” This one sentence alone will make us aware of the efforts by  our intelligence officers to keep us safe.
Following the success of Stree, Raj and DK have come up with Family Man. They have the knack of mixing comedy with the main plot without making anything overbearing. They did it successfully in Stree where they gave new life to horror-comedy in mainstream Bollywood cinema, Go Goa Gone was like the Blade meets the Friends.
