Ranji player Aniketh Reddy

Hyderabad Ranji player Aniketh Reddy needs no introduction to cricket fans. The meteoric rise of this youth has impressed everyone. Aniketh Reddy made his Ranji first class debut against Vidarbha. He is now part of the recently announced Hyderabad Ranji squad.

He led the Hyderabad Cricket Association Under-19 squad in the Vinoo Mankad Trophy and played a big role in Hyd v/s Vidarbha match by taking 4 wickets with an impressive economy rate of 3.25 (23-6-61-4)

Tell us how forayed into cricket? What is the best moment you cherish in cricket?

I started playing cricket when I was 7 year’s old, and I love this sport. My Ranji debut is very special to me and it will always remain the same.

Tell us about your early struggles in career, how did you manage to overcome those obstacles:

Well, I had a shoulder injury due to which I had to take a break for 1 year. But, finally, I bounced back to the game with full energy after overcoming it. The good thing was that it made me stronger mentally.

Who inspired you most as a mentor?

My mentor is my dad. He was my first coach and always inspires me to go the extra mile and be a better player each day.

Share us your biggest dream & goal in life?

My greatest goal is to play for my country.

Your biggest achievements?

I took 4 wickets in my debut Ranji match against Vidarbha. It’s one of my achievements playing for Hyderabad in the Ranji trophy, but it’s also a big stepping-stone for my career.

In that season, I played under- 19 Cooch Behar trophy and picked 40 wickets in 8 matches and scored 340 runs. And then I went on to play under 23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy and picked 3 wickets and scored 60 runs and finally got selected for Ranji trophy.
