In India, cricket players are treated as Demigods. Starting from Sachin Tendulkar to Jasprit Bumrah, everyone is treated as celebrities and relatively no other country sees their cricketers as highly as India does.
Today, Fan9 compares Indian cricket players to the Tennis players world-wide and let us know your views in comments section.
Sachin Tendulkar – Roger Federer
Sachin Tendulkar, the greatest batsman of the game is treated as the God in the sub-continent. And the only Tennis equivalent we could think of to match the cricketing God is none other than Roger Federer, the 20-time Grand Slam champion who holds many records of the sport and continues to amaze us with his magic on court.
MS Dhoni – Pete Sampras
One thing MS Dhoni and 14-time Grand Slam winning legend Sampras have in common is the duo’s tenacity on the field. And their success is louder than their words, which makes one a role model. Being cool and calm under pressure, they’ve achieved a lot in their respective sports.
Rohit Sharma – Rafael Nadal
Rohit Sharma’s talent and behaviour on the field is similar to the Tennis great Rafael Nadal. They both are aggressive once they are in their groove and have achieved a lot of records which no one could even dream of breaking.
Virat Kohli – Novak Djokovic
Both are vegetarians; follow gluten-free diet, and animal lovers. But above all, both these players are magnanimously flexible and mentally strong on the field.
Yuvraj Singh – Andy Murray
Very talented players but their careers are slowed down because of injuries. Both these players had their good times and have their own strong fan bases.
Suresh Raina – Alexander Zverev
Suresh Raina is like Alexander Zverev of Cricket. Both these players are talented but fail to perform well at big stages. While Zverev falls short at the Grand Slams, Raina only performs well at IPL and tumbles down at International games.
Rishabh Pant – Frances Tiafoe
These two youngsters are very talented but so far haven’t proved their worth yet. Hope they get more chances without pressure and prove what they’re capable of.
Hardik Pandya – Nick Kyrgios
Talented. Twisty. Gutsy. And out of the box. What’s more there to say about these two?
Goutam Gambhir – David Ferrer
These two players are ferocious on the court. Treat their respective sports with utmost respect and always wants to give their maximum.
KL Rahul – Stefanos Tsitsipas
The future of their respective sports. Have the guts to fearlessly face the biggies of the game and shows no remorse when destroying their opponents. KL Rahul and Stefanos Tsitsipas are cut from the same cloth.
Jasprit Bumrah – Medvedev
These two players are dangerous opponents and no player wants to face off these two at their best.
So, that’s our comparison of Indian cricketers and Tennis players. Do you agree with this list? Let us know in the comments!
