Who will lead -Fan9- fanstrike

Today there is a big line of talented players waiting to play for India. Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu have dominated Indian badminton for more than a decade. When Saina began to dominate the sport a decade ago, Sindhu has been doing just that for the past few years. From Olympic victories to world championship medals, the duo has won almost everything a badminton player can dream of in their careers. The real question is who represents the future of Indian Badminton.

Ashmita Chaliha

Ashmitha is India’s tallest female singles badminton player. Currently ranked 83rd in the BWF rankings. The 21-year-old from Assam came to the fore after giving a tough challenge to Sindhu at the 2019 National Badminton Championships. Despite losing 10-21, 20-22, it was a fierce battle that lasted 38 minutes.

Malavika Bansod

Malavika Bansod started her international career with two titles, Maldives International Future Series (2019) and Annapurna Post International Series (2019). This Nagpur-based badminton player has won the Uganda International and Lithuanian International titles this year. She is training under coach Sanjay Mishra in Raipur. The teenager is currently ranked 110th in the world.

Gayatri Gopichand

Gayatri has made headlines with her performance. The teenager was selected to be part of the Indian team that won gold at the 2019 Asian Games when she was 15 years old. She was also the second-youngest player to appear in the recent Premier Badminton League Edition and was part of the Chennai Superstars team.
