Sonam Kapoor and Dulquer Salmaan-starrer, Zoya Factor’s engrossing trailer has been released and we are already loving its peppy vibe. It’s young, fresh and funny, it has cricket and a gorgeous Sonam Kapoor romancing South heartthrob Dulquer Salman. What more to expect from a good entertainer!
The Zoya Factor is based on the best selling novel of the same name written by Anuja Chauhan. The story is about a girl, Zoya Solanki who becomes the lucky mascot of Indian cricket team and falls in love with the skipper, Nikhil Koda.
The trailer opens up with a commentary about the historic day when India won its maiden World Cup on 25th June 1983. However, the credit for the historic win is given to Zoya, who was born on the same day. As Zoya grows up, she turns out to be an unlucky girl- her love life is pathetic, her boss hates her and she is forced to work with the Indian cricket team for her next project because she hates cricket. However, all that changes when she meets the hero Nikhil (Dulquer). She falls in love with Nikhil and somehow turns out to be Team India’s secret weapon. What follows is madness and hysteria as Zoya is projected as India’s lucky mascot and how blind faith takes over logic and reason.
This trailer boasts a refreshing outlook as Nikhil quips in a scene, ‘the more you practice, the luckier you get.’ Kudos for the makers who came up with this idea-hard work trumps everything.
The trailer has managed to charm everyone with its unique subject as well as riding high on Dulquer and Sonam’s crackling chemistry. If you heard all the fun dialogues in the trailer, take the trivia challenge on FanKick app and see how many you can complete.
This movie is Dulquer’s second attempt to find a foothold in Bollywood after making an okayish debut in Karwaan. Dulquer has the aura of Team India captain Virat Kohli in the trailer and is seen flaunting six-pack abs and tattoos, making the women swoon over his aura.
After Khoobsurat, Sonam has been surprising everyone with her unique choice of films and The Zoya Factor is no different. We are hoping that Sonam’s Zoya will be a lucky charm for Dulquer and we would get to see more of him in Bollywood. Vote on FanKick if Dulquer can change the fate of Southern stars with his success in this movie.
The movie is helmed by Abhishek Sharma, who has directed and written screenplay for successful films like Tere Bin Laden, Tere Bin Laden: Dead or Alive, and Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran.
