7. Dhadkan

Rustom is a superhit film that was based on a real life incident of Naval Officer K M Nanavati. Akshay Kumar is known for his many superhero roles like that of Chandni Chowk to China and 2.0. But he portrayed a real-life superhero in his film called Pad Man. Inspired by a social entrepreneur named Arunachalam Muruganantham, who invented low-cost sanitary pad-making equipment, Pad Man movie is one of the critically and commercially successful films of Akshay’s career. Also, Pad Man won the National Award for Best Film on Social Issues.

3. Oh My God

OMG is a satirical comedy-drama which was based on the Australian film The Man Who Sued God. Akshay Kumar, who also produced the movie, acted as Lord Krishna who befriends an atheist (Paresh Rawal). The movie opened to negative talk but became a superhit and one of the biggest hits of 2012, collecting over Rs 180 cr.

Based on a real incident that happened in Mumbai city in 1987, Special 26 is a crime thriller directed by Neeraj Pandey. This film received a huge critical acclaim thanks to the enthralling performances of Akshay Kumar, Manoj Bajpayee among others.
