‘V’ Telugu movie review

Popular Tollywood star Nani’s latest thriller, ‘V’ fails to rise to the expectations of fans. This crime thriller directed by ace filmmaker Mohana Krishna Indraganti, starring seasoned actors like Nani, Sudheer Babu, Nivetha Thomas and Aditi Rao ends up as a damp squib thanks to a sloppy story line with a predictable end and dull climax, despite some good performance from the lead stars.

Story line:

For the first time in his career, Nani plays a shady character – a menacing serial killer who is on prowl in Hyderabad. Cops have no clue about his dark motives until a suave, daring and intelligent officer (Sudheer Babu) begins to probe his ulterior motives behind each murder. The plot thickens from that point onwards, and from there onwards, a wild rat race ensures between the hunter and the hunted. It is a clash of egos between the duo from then on, until the viewers get to know the real truth behind the gruesome murders committed by Nani.

Perhaps, Nani’s performance as the hounded-out anti-hero is the only saving grace of this badly executed movie. Nani enjoys considerable screen time, and gives every bit of his talent to make it a success, yet the movie falls somewhere in the middle and finally ends up as a normal revenge movie flick. Sudheer Babu deserves a pat on his back for the balanced portrayal of the investigating officer and Aditi Rao, yet again pulled out an amazing performance though her role was short. The technical crew also deserves a special mention for their efforts, despite being halted by a sloppy narration and plot.
