There’s a scene in Chatrapathi just before the interval where Prabhas goes to a minister’s office and gives him a powerful warning. Those crucial 20 minutes, from Katraju fight scene to Appala Nayudu’s warning scene, forever transformed the career graph of Rebel Star. Such was Chatrapathi’s impact on Prabhas’ career that he hardly done a non-mass film after that. The credit goes to Chatrapathi alone for elevating Prabhas into a huge mass hero.
Here’s a list of Top 10 Prabhas movies ranked from 10 to 1. Do have a look and let us know what you think!
This marked the directorial debut of Vamshi Paidipally and he proved his worth with this film. This movie is superb in terms of style quotient and Prabhas’ performance but failed to perform well at the box office.
Bujjigadu too, in a similar way, managed to impress the TV audience but failed to perform well at the box office given its star cast and crew. However, for fans, it still remains one of their top favorites.
Forget Munna, but Billa is the most stylish movie in Prabhas’ filmography, even beating his latest venture Saaho. This Tamil remake was directed in Telugu by Meher Ramesh and it’s the only good work he has done.
7. Mr. Perfect
A huge musical hit, Mr. Perfect is one of the few movies of Prabhas which entertained family audience. This full-length family drama has done decently at the box office too. However, this movie stirred up a controversy during its release about copyright infringement. The court had ruled that it is a copy of a novel named “Naa Manasu Korindi Ninne” by Mummidi Shyamala Rani.
Darling was a huge entertainer at both the box office and TV. Directed by Karunakaran, this romantic comedy has collected double its budget and also received accolades from critics.
Varsham is the movie which introduced Prabhas to stardom. His previous two films hadn’t garnered any buzz in the market and with the release of Varsham, everything has changed. Following its success, directors and story writers have started visualizing Prabhas for their action scripts.
Of all the Prabhas’ movies, even including the popular Baahubali franchise, Mirchi still remains the personal favorite for many Prabhas’ fans. This film has been aging like wine and many fans thank Koratala Siva for transforming their hero from a macho to a darling.
3. Baahubali: The Beginning
There’s not much to say about Baahubali films that the franchise has caused all the required noise. But what Baahubali films have done to Prabhas, (which the remaining films couldn’t), is elevate him to an international level. Then again, the man who should be credited for this feat is none other than SS Rajamouli, the mastermind behind Baahubali films.
We repeat: Chatrapathi gave instant stardom to Prabhas with a huge mass following. Its first half is at another level with all elevations, whereas the intensity fails to prolong till the end and dilutes a bit in the second half.
1. Baahubali: The Conclusion
The Conclusion is way better than The Beginning and it shows right from the title cards. Baahubali: The Conclusion still remains an unforgettable experience for every Prabhas fan if not for every Telugu cinema goer.
Honorable Mentions: Pournami, Ek Niranjan
