If there’s any actor in Telugu Cinema, if not across South Indian Cinéma, who’s versatile, stylish, and a great performer, it’s none other than Allu Arjun.
Has anyone thought if he will become the most stylish Telugu hero, after watching him in his debut Gangotri 17 years ago? Even Allu Arjun wouldn’t. But the way he had transformed his style, body language, and his persona all in these 17 years…it’s phenomenal.
On the occasion of Allu Arjun’s 35th birthday, the Fankick team came up with a list of most notable performances of Allu Arjun. Take a look.
Arya was the game changer of love stories back then. One of the significant movies in the genre, Arya moved the world of lovers, college-goers and all the youth back then. Allu Arjun’s performance as a persistent and out-of-the-box lover still woos the youth.
Julayi marks Allu Arjun and Trivikram’s first collaboration, which eventually became a successful one with 3 combinations. Ravi, a middle-class young guy, goes out of his societal norms and capabilities to beat the evil that dawned upon thousands of truer middle class lives. Julayi is both a musical and commercial hit at the BO.
5. Race Gurram
One of the most electrifying performances of Allu Arjun’s career. The character Lucky is the soul of the movie and the way Bunny had portrayed him was notable. Released with no expectations, this movie became the highest grosser of the year.
4. Arya 2
Allu Arjun’s performance in Arya 2 is one of the twisted, excellent, dark, yet memorable one in his career. Sukumar has a knack of showing his lead characters differently and Arya 2 is no exception.
Parugu is the axis point of Allu Arjun’s whole career. Parugu transformed Allu Arjun from a happy-go-lucky lad to a matured actor who started to choose roles with more weight and seriousness.
2. Ala Vaikuntapurramulo
The kind of buzz this movie has made a couple of months ago at the BO is still reverberating. Everything about this movie, including its music, acting and direction, turned out to be awesome. Ala Vaikuntapurramulo also marked the comeback of Trivikram. With this, Allu Arjun bounced back after a huge gap, and S Thaman gave the best treat to all fans.
There’s more soul in this movie than many of the so called commercial blockbusters of Telugu Cinema combined. Ironically, Vedam didn’t perform well at the BO, but still lives in the hearts of the many movie lovers. Arjun as Cable Raju mirrored the lives of slum people so naturally and the spark of his character from the beginning to the end is surreal.
