Lootcase review

Lootcase, a movie by debutant director Rajesh Krishnan, is all about silly laughs. It revolves around the life of Nandan Kumar (Kunal Khemu) who works at a printing press. Nandan plays a typical middle-class guy and leads an ordinary life, representing millions of hapless.

Lootcase story line:

However, one day while returning to home from work, Nandan’s life takes a dramatic turn-which he thinks is for his good, as he stumbles on a bright-red trolley bag full of 2000-rupee notes. All of a sudden, his life seems to have turned its fortunes

until a few days later when he finds out the truth that the bag belonged to a corrupt MLA and finds himself in midst of a gangster brawl.

Kunal Khemu, Rasika Dugal sizzle

Lootcase starts on an encouraging note and stays on course for about an hour or so, then loses pace as it takes too long to reach the climax.

The writers Kapil Sawant and Rajesh Krishnan seemed to have taken the safe route as the writing is funny in some parts, but not so effective in others.

However, the performances by the entire cast make up the damage as Kunal Khemu impresses with his down to earth comic character and Rasika Dugal justifying her character well too. It was a treat to watch Gajraj Rao and Vijay Raaz in the same frame and specially Raaz’s meticulous animal behavior references. On the other hand, Ranvir Shorey, who played the role of a seasoned cop brings the element of seriousness and danger.

Although while watching a simple movie like this, you would just want to be stuck to your couch and

get entertained, it feels this ‘loot’ could have been done better.
