Kriti Sanon is emerging as the new diva of Bollywood. Kriti made her Bollywood debut with Tiger Shroff-starrer ‘Heropanti’ in 2014. Before her debut, Kriti tried her luck in South and made her Tollywood debut opposite Mahesh Babu’s 1: Nenokkadini. Kriti was appreciated by everyone, despite the film receiving mixed response.

Kriti made it to the big league with Rohit Shetty’s Dilwale in 2015, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol and Varun Dhawan. Even though the film was a commercial success, it wasn’t well-received by the critics. She joined  Sushant Singh Rajput in her next release, Raabta. But, it ran into a major controversy with makers being dragged to court by SS Rajamouli for lifting the plot of his movie Magadheera. Raabta flopped badly at the box office, even Deepika Padukone’s item number couldn’t save the film.

Things turned from gloomy to sunny for her with the release of Bareilly Ki Barfi. She portrayed the role of a small-town girl, Bitti Mishra in this Ayushmann Khuranna-Rajkumar Rao starrer flick which turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2017. The string of hits continued in 2018 also when she starred opposite Kartik Aaryan in Lukka Chuppi, making it her most successful film till date.

Kriti also dabbled with item numbers in ‘Stree’ and ‘Kalank’ with the former becoming a superhit. 2019 has been a mixed year for Kriti with Daljit Dosanjh’s ‘Arjun Patiala’ finally getting released. But it wasn’t well-received by the audience. Her second release, ‘Housefull 4’ which ran into #MeToo controversy was thrashed by the critics and audience even though the makers made tall claims about its success.

As Kriti is awaiting her third release of the year with Panipat, she shouldn’t keep her hopes high given how the audience has responded to the trailer. Read about Panipat’s box office prediction in Fan9 blog before you book your tickets.

2020 looks promising for Kriti as she would star in the breakthrough movie Mimi, based on surrogacy. She will be seen with Pankaj Tripathi. However, you can catch Kriti’s glimpse on the silver screen in Pati Patni Aur Woh this weekend where she is making a cameo and reuniting with Kartik Aaryan.
