All eyes are on Salman Khan’s return to big screen on December 20 as the dashing supercop, Chulbul Pandey. Bhaijaan will be seen in the third installment of Dabangg 3. Amid a lot of expectations, Sallu is currently busy promoting the movie in all major metropolitan cities.
Dabangg 3 has a star-studded cast, all thanks to Bhaijaan, who left no stone unturned in hiring the best talent. The film stars Sonakshi Sinha as Rajjo, the only constant in the franchise apart from Salman. Kiccha Sudeep will play the baddie. Saiee Manjrekar, daughter of Mahesh Manjrekar makes her debut with Dabangg 3. She plays the role of Chulbul’s dead lover, which makes us wonder why despite having a talented father like Mahesh she chose to make her debut with this film. Maybe the allure to be cast opposite a big star is bigger than the desire to do a good film.
The trailer of Dabangg 3 left very little for imagination as it revealed the entire plot. Set in the backdrop of a teenage love story, it is an intriguing revenge drama – a bad guy kills a girl and her teenage lover becomes cop later crossing paths with the killer. What follows is the familiar story of adventure and revenge.
Prabhu Deva, who revived Salman’s career with Wanted, took over from Arbaaz Khan as the director of Dabangg 3. Now Salman would be hoping for the same magic from him. What made Dabangg 1 a success was director Abhinav Kashyap’s breezy storytelling, but when Arbaaz Khan took over as director for Dabangg 2, the result was disastrous. Luckily for Salman, Dabangg 3 has all the ingredients of a typical Bollywood masala revenge drama. The only change is that Munni Badnam Hui became Munna Badnaam Hua, owing to Malaika Arora’s changed equations with the Khan-daan.
Let’s see on December 20, if Bhai would be able to pull off yet another success at the box office.
