On her birthday, let us revisit her 5 most memorable roles as we all eagerly wait for the actress to be back on screen with another smashing performance.
Premam – Sai Pallavi was a 23-year-old med student when this Nivin Pauly movie fell into her kitty. When Premam released in 2015, Sai Pallavi stood out with her performance among three actresses. Even though she didn’t get to walk in the sunset, ‘Malar Miss’ won the hearts of fans. Despite her insecurities about her acne breakout, she signed up for Premam with a backup plan to fly to Georgia if the movie failed. However, as luck would have it, tables turned differently for her.
Kali – Sai Pallavi played the role of a happy go lucky girl, who married her young lover (Dulquer Salman). Pallavi delivered an amazing performance by showing Anjali’s fear and rage, when Dulquer’s comes into conflict with a ruffian.
Fidaa – Fidaa brought a breeze of fresh air into Telugu cinema and took Sai Pallavi’s career to the next level. Pallavi stole the show with her stellar performance in this Shekhar Kammula movie. Bhanumati’s confidence and wit are beautifully depicted in this film. Pallavi struck an emotional chord her character on and off screen too.
Athiran – To play Nithya, a woman with autism who also has strong skills in the martial art of Kalari, Sai Pallavi had her work cut out for her. Wearing a white dress with her hair left loose, Nithya came across as almost Ghoul-like to audiences initially, but Pallavi was able to lend certain quirks to the character.
Maari 2 – Her character Araathu Aanandi is unlike any other character Sai Pallavi has played in her career. The biggest gift Maari 2 gave the actor was the hit track ‘Rowdy Baby’, which was an instant hit on YouTube. Pallavi’s songs have always done well, like Premam’s ‘Malare’ and Fidaa’s ‘Vachinde’, but none can compete with the way ‘Rowdy Baby’ has gone beyond the film and found a life of its own.
